In 1914 Union Electric opened its doors for the first time as Star Gas & Electric. In those days, Union was an electrical supply company distinguished by their superior products and knowledgeable staff for providing reliable service to both the electrical trades and general public. In fact, the words "Quality, Value and Service" were inscribed into the floor of the original Union showroom.

Some things never change. That credo means as much to Union today as it did back in 1914. Our entire staff is committed to maintaining the principles that earned Union its nation-wide reputation so many years ago.

While Union has always been at the forefront of the lighting industry - our showroom is recognized as one of North America's best - in the last decade Union expanded to offer an equally comprehensive selection of fine home furnishings and decorative accessories.

A 1968 newspaper article wrote:

"As the visitor opens these doors he is struck immediately by a vast and exciting display of lighting fixtures, literally hundreds of them, hanging resplendently from the ceilings and displayed invitingly from hundreds of feet of wall space. Fixtures of every imaginable description present themselves to the spectator's view - from the simple and utilitarian to lighting that would not be out of place in the Palace of Versailles."
